COSMOS Corporation neither uses nor solicits advertising on this Web site. If you receive any marketing or sales materials that indicate a source or reference from COSMOS Corporation, please notify us immediately.

What are cookies and how does COSMOSCORP.com use them?

Cookies are small files containing information that a Web site uses to track a visit. A persistent cookie remains on the user's hard drive for authentication purposes, while a session cookie is temporary and is only used to complete a registration process or survey. COSMOSCORP.com requires session cookies to complete any registration processes, such as surveys, we host.

COSMOSCORP.com does not use persistent cookies in any of the corporate pages: There is no login process, no "personalization," no record of who or when a visitor accesses the Web site.

COSMOSCORP.com uses persistent cookies at a client's request where a respondent may need to return repeatedly to complete a survey. This reduces respondent burden. In all such cases the respondent may opt whether to use a persistent cookie or to re-enter identifying information with each visit.

COSMOSCORP.COM uses session cookies extensively for surveys, especially those that contain multiple pages. Session cookies are stored on the visitor's local computer during the Web site visit and deleted when the user moves to a non-COSMOSCORP Web site or closes his or her browser.

Please refer to your browser's Help function for further information on controlling and setting cookies. Because session cookies are used for surveys, a visitor will receive a message that cookies must be turned on before proceeding with the survey.

External Web sites whose hyperlinks are provided on the "Links" page may contain cookies. COSMOSCORP.com has no control over the policies at other Web sites and cannot access cookies that they may track.

What is Javascript and the Virtual Machine?

COSMOSCORP.COM uses Microsoft Active Server Page (ASP) technology to manage its Web site. It also utilizes the VBScript and Javascript programming languages to manage certain elements of the Web site and its surveys. In order for the Javascript components to work, your local computer must be running a "Java Virtual Machine," distributed by Microsoft Corporation as the Microsoft Virtual Machine. Because of a lawsuit by Sun Microsystems, versions of Microsoft Windows XP distributed between July 10 and September 9 did not include the Microsoft VM. Those users may obtain it by installing the Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Users who prefer to install the Microsoft VM without installing the Service Pack, may obtain it independently from KRM Corporation.

What information does COSMOSCORP.com collect?

There are three pages on the COSMOSCORP.com Web site where data are collected:  the Partnering Opportunities, Links, and Contact Us pages. Any information provided is voluntary and optional. COSMOSCORP.com does not share any of your personally identifiable information with any person or entity outside of the organization.

COSMOS Corporation often develops surveys for research which are posted as subWebs and made available by invitation to specific respondents. Many of these surveys require a username and password or coded ID that is sent via mail, e-mail, or telephone call. Privacy, confidentiality, and anonymity of data sources are strictly enforced and often follow rules established by the United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Data are maintained in secure structures in secure locations behind a firewall. Furthermore, data are removed from computers with Internet access based on a scheduled protocol.

Changes to this policy and notification of changes

COSMOSCORP.com will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect company and customer feedback. The privacy policy will include the date that changes were last made to this document in a prominent location. COSMOSCORP.com encourages you to periodically review this Policy to be informed of how COSMOSCORP.com is protecting your information.

If, however, we are going to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.
